As the Primary and General Elections near, I again write to you to seek your cooperation in distributing the Candidate Questionnaire Project (CQP) results to your parishioners.

As in past election years, the Florida Catholic Conference and Florida Catholic newspaper, in cooperation with the Florida Council of Catholic Women and the Florida State Council of Knights of Columbus, have coordinated a statewide Candidate Questionnaire Project. All candidates in the Congressional and State Legislative races are asked their positions on public policy issues of concern to the Catholic Church that are expected to be considered by lawmakers during the coming sessions. It is an important, worthwhile project that has my full support as well as the support of the other bishops of Florida.

I urge your support and help to ensure effective and wide dissemination as the faithful seek to properly form their consciences. It is vital that parishioners are knowledgeable of candidates’ stands on significant issues related to the sanctity of human life, protection of human dignity and the common good. The website will also be available for individual voters to visit and access information.
